These Terms & Conditions apply to all repair services carried out by PC Tech Computer Services. By leaving equipment with us for diagnosis or repair, you acknowledge that you have read and accepted these terms. Nothing in these Terms & Conditions affects your statutory rights under UK consumer law.

PC Tech Computer Services

1. Estimates

Any quotation or estimate is based on the information available at the time of inspection. Additional faults discovered during repair may affect the final cost, and customers will be contacted before any additional chargeable work is carried out.

All estimates are valid for 30 days

2. Payment

Payment is due upon completion of the repair and before equipment is released to the customer.

We accept:

Ownership of repaired equipment remains with PC Tech Computer Services until full payment has been received.

3. Data Responsibility

Although every care is taken, customers are responsible for backing up all important data before leaving equipment for repair. If data recovery services are requested, they will be carried out at an additional charge.

PC Tech Computer Services accepts no responsibility for loss, corruption or recovery of data during diagnosis, repair or software installation.

4. Warranty

Unless otherwise stated:

5. Collection of Equipment

Customers will be notified when repairs are complete.

Repaired equipment should be collected within 30 days of notification.

Equipment remaining uncollected beyond this period may incur reasonable storage charges.

Where equipment remains uncollected for an extended period, despite reasonable attempts to contact the customer, PC Tech Computer Services reserves the right to dispose of or sell the equipment, in accordance with applicable UK law, to recover outstanding repair, storage and administrative costs.

Any remaining balance after lawful disposal will be handled in accordance with legal requirements.

6. Repairs

Electronic equipment can contain multiple faults.

Repairing one fault does not guarantee that additional faults will not become apparent afterwards.

Only faults specifically diagnosed and repaired are covered by the repair warranty.

7. Liquid Damage

Liquid damaged devices are unpredictable.

Cleaning and repair attempts are made on a best-effort basis and no guarantee can be given regarding long-term reliability.

8. Passwords

Where passwords are required for testing, customers agree to provide them before repair. If a password is not supplied, certain functions may be unable to be tested and this may affect the repair or diagnosis.

Passwords are used solely for testing purposes and are not retained after completion of the repair.

Customers are responsible for ensuring that passwords, PINs, BitLocker recovery keys, Apple IDs and other account credentials required to complete the repair are available when requested.

9. Software & Licensing

Customers are responsible for ensuring they possess valid software licences.

Customers are responsible for supplying any software licence keys or activation credentials required for software installation or reinstallation.

PC Tech Computer Services will not install unlicensed or pirated software.

10. Liability

The liability of PC Tech Computer Services for any claim arising from repair services shall be limited to the amount paid for the repair.

We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including loss of earnings, business interruption or loss of data.

11. Customer Acceptance

By leaving equipment for repair, the customer confirms they have read, understood and accepted these Terms & Conditions.

12. Bench Diagnostic Fee

Where no fault is found or the reported fault cannot be reproduced, the Bench Diagnostic Fee may still apply to cover the time spent diagnosing and testing the equipment.

A Bench Diagnostic Fee of £45.00 may apply for equipment submitted for diagnosis, fault finding or assessment.

If the customer proceeds with the recommended repair, the Bench Diagnostic Fee will normally be deducted from the final repair invoice.

If the customer declines the repair after diagnosis, or if no repair is carried out, the Bench Diagnostic Fee remains payable.

The customer will be advised of any repair costs before chargeable repair work is carried out.

13. Existing Damage

PC Tech Computer Services cannot be held responsible for pre-existing faults, cosmetic damage, worn components or defects that were present before repair. During disassembly, previously damaged or fragile components may fail due to their existing condition
